The CE Shop’s mortgage expert Michelle White named a “Legend of Lending.”

The CE Shop is proud to congratulate Michelle White on her recognition as one of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s 2023 “Legends of Lending.” Each year, the association chooses a class of the most outstanding mortgage professionals who have made notable contributions to the mortgage industry.

White has had an admirable career as a mortgage professional since 1993 and has successfully navigated the ups and downs of the mortgage market over the years. Instead of succumbing to market volatility, she viewed challenges as opportunities to strengthen her skills and expand her industry knowledge.

Almost two years ago, White decided to take her passion for knowledge and join The CE Shop as a National Mortgage Expert and help launch NMLS-approved pre-licensing and CE courses for mortgage professionals. Her focus was to provide high-quality curricula that equip new MLOs for success in the industry. Her personal experiences, including a defining moment involving mortgage ethics, played a crucial role in helping her shape a curriculum that will contribute to the development of principled mortgage professionals.

Under White’s guidance, The CE Shop’s mortgage education has flourished. Her philosophy of variance in content delivery, making complex mortgage laws more digestible, and practical application of MLO duties has led to early student successes. She has also infused some pivotal moments of her own career into the course content so that students can get a real-world feel for what may lay ahead in their careers. Combined with the program’s well-designed interface and engaging curriculum, students of different learning styles have been able to navigate the courses and demonstrate content mastery.

“It’s encouraging to see how many people are able to get through the program successfully,” she said.

White plans to stay at The CE Shop as long as she can and leverage her passion for teaching and learning. Her vision extends beyond the existing program, with plans to introduce ongoing professional development courses to further enhance the program’s offerings. She also plans to branch out as a motivational speaker to inspire other mortgage professionals.
