Individual Courses
Utah 120-Hour Broker Pre-licensing Course
This course provides 120 hours of instruction required of Utah real estate broker licensed applicants. The course prepares learners for the broker licensing exam and a career as a real estate broker. Students will complete the following topics:
- Utah law, including UCA 61-2, Administrative Rules, and other state regulations relevant to real estate practice
- Broker principles, including agency, federal laws, income taxation, property law and ownership, contract law, math, appraisal concepts, finance, and property management basics
- Broker practices, including forms, appraisal practices, broker role and responsibilities, managing the company, property management practices, agency practices, and ethics and professionalism

Hours Required by the State: 120 hours
- 45 hours in broker principles
- 45 hours in broker practices
- 30 hours in Utah law and testing
Note: An application for broker licensure shall be submitted within 12 months of the date on which the individual completes the prelicensing education.
Licensing Exam: The licensing exam is administered by PearsonVue. Registration for the state licensing exam is an entirely separate process from proctoring for your course final exam. For instructions to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.

Reporting: The state does not require schools to report course completions.
Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account.
Stringham Schools Pre-Licensing courses expire one year after the date of purchase. Stringham Schools will allow students to purchase a new course at a 50% discount of the current retail price of the new course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in the student’s account.
Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, Stringham Schools will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
Max Hours in a 24-Hour Period: Licensees will not receive credit for more than 8 hours of pre-licensing education in a 24-hour period. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.
