The 7-Hour National USPAP Continuing Education Course focuses on the requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance by appraisers that are set forth in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). All required manuals from The Appraisal Foundation are included in your course.

This course is offered via live online (synchronous meeting) delivery. Once enrolled, you can select upcoming classes to attend. Classes are offered weekly in two 3.5-hour sessions (Part A and Part B). They must be taken in order, but you can select the schedule options that work best for you. Florida Appraisal Laws and Regulations

This course provides three hours of instruction in Florida appraisal laws and regulations, which satisfies a portion of the continued education needed for licensure in the state. Topics include The Appraisal Foundation, FIRREA, and federal components to set up the state specific subjects. Then the course dives into the Appraisal Subcommittee, the establishment of the Appraisal Foundation, and the role of the Appraiser Qualifications Board and Appraisal Standards Board in unison with Florida requirements for licensure and ethical appraisal practice. To wrap up this course, you will learn about the duties of the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board, Florida appraiser classifications, laws, and rules of professional conduct.

 

This course does not meet the 2026 Real Property Qualification Criteria (Criteria) required education on valuation bias and fair housing laws and regulations.

Florida State Requirement Details for Appraiser Continuing Education

Renewal Date: Every 2 years, 11/30 of even-numbered years

Hours Required by the State for renewals prior to January 1, 2026: 30 Hours

  • 3 hours update to Florida law and rules
  • 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course
  • 20 hours of approved continuing education

Hours Required by the State for renewals on or after January 1, 2026: 30 Hours

  • 3 hours update to Florida law and rules
  • 7-Hour National USPAP Continuing Education Course
  • 7-hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course or 4-hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course (see explanation below) 
  • 13 hours of approved continuing education or 16 hours of approved continuing education (see explanation below)

Beginning January 1, 2026, a Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course will be required for Continuing Education. The first time a Licensee completes the Continuing Education requirement for this course, the course length must be 7 hours. If a Licensee successfully completed an 8-hour course as part of their Qualifying Education, they have satisfied this requirement. Every 2 calendar years thereafter, the course length must be at least 4 hours. This new course requirement is included in the 28 total hours for a 2-year renewal.

Reporting: The state requires CE course completions to be reported to the state. We will report your course to the state upon completion.

Certificates: Immediately upon appraisal course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
