Topics include economic trends, cycles, factors of value, and indicators along with the principles of real estate marketability. This course also dives into market, insurable, use, and investment value, just to name a few. To wrap this course up, influence on property value including physical, geographic, economic, governmental, and social forces is also covered.

This course provides 7 hours of continued education in property ownership and real estate markets for appraisal professionals. Topics include property ownership, interests, and rights, which dives into types of estates and forms of ownership along with property rights and public and private restrictions to ownership rights. This course also covers real estate markets and analysis including economic characteristics and analyzing supply and demand.

This course provides 5 hours of continued education instruction in reviewing real estate title, transfers, and contracts. Topics include titles, deeds and transfer of title. The course also reviews and expands on contract types and requirements along with legal considerations. To wrap up the course, real estate leases are covered in depth with basics, types, elements of, and terminating a lease all discussed.

To wrap up this course, location and neighborhood characteristics and factors influencing property values are also covered.

This course provides 4 hours of continued education instruction in reviewing appraisal valuation procedures for appraisal professionals. Topics include problem identification, scoping the work, and appraisal process along with collecting and selecting data for appraisal. This course also dives into analyzing and organizing data. To wrap this course up, reviewing and reconciling final value opinions is also covered.

This course provides four hours of instruction in California federal and state laws and regulations, which satisfies a portion of the continued education needed for licensure in the state. Topics include The Appraisal Foundation, FIRREA, and federal laws. Then the course dives into the Appraisal Subcommittee, the establishment of the Appraisal Foundation, and the role of the Appraiser Qualifications Board and Appraisal Standards Board within the appraisal industry. The course culminates with in depth coverage of how California licenses and regulates appraisers through the duties of the California Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers (BREA), Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers Practice Act, and California Code of Regulations.

This course provides 3 hours of instruction in cultural competency and elimination of bias, which satisfies a portion of the continuing and qualifying education needed for licensure in the state. In this course you will learn how to recognize explicit and implicit bias in yourself and in others. Being able to identify biases is important because bias can sneak into our thoughts and behaviors without our knowledge or intention. We’ll also explore possible causes of bias, offer strategies to increase your ability to recognize bias, and introduce some solutions. By the time you complete this course, you’ll understand why cultural competency helps increase equity in appraisals and how lacking cultural competency can negatively impact the valuation process, its outcome, and the appraisal industry as a whole.

The course covers best practices for appraising energy efficient homes including terminology, building features, and credits. Topics include introductions to going green and sustainability, green energy labels, ratings, and certifications. Appraisal professionals will also learn how to valuate green and high-performance properties, incorporating energy-efficient data into an Appraisal report, and resources for green valuations. The course closes with an in-depth review of The Residential Green and Energy Efficient Addendum.

The 7-Hour National USPAP Continuing Education Course focuses on the requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance by appraisers that are set forth in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). All required manuals from The Appraisal Foundation are included in your course.

This course is offered via live online (synchronous meeting) delivery. Once enrolled, you can select upcoming classes to attend.
