9-Hr. UT-DRE MLO 2025 Late CE Package
Late CE courses should only be completed by MLOs who need to complete a prior years' CE, as instructed by their state regulator. Do NOT complete a late CE course if you're intending to satisfy a current year CE requirement. Log in to your NMLS account and review your education record to verify whether you need to complete late CE.

Late CE 1 Hour UT-DRE SAFE: 2025 Utah Law Review Course (#17146)
A mortgage loan originator (MLO) licensed Utah is required to complete nine total hours of continuing education annually. This includes:
- Three hours on federal mortgage-related laws
- Two hours on ethics, fraud, and consumer protection
- Two hours on traditional and non-traditional mortgage products
- One hour on elective content
- One hour on Utah-DRE specific education
This online self-study course satisfies the one hour of required state-specific education. Within the course, students will spend time reviewing state regulations and acts impacting mortgage loan origination activities; perusing scenarios, examples, or case studies; and completing exercises to demonstrate understanding of the content.
Late CE 8 Hour SAFE Comprehensive: 2025 Mortgage Loan Originator Course (#16510)
This online self-study course satisfies the eight hours of 2025 annual continuing education required of individuals maintaining a state-issued mortgage loan originator (MLO) license. Within this course, students will spend time reviewing required topics, including:
- Three hours on federal mortgage-related laws
- Two hours on ethics, fraud, and consumer protection
- Two hours on lending standards related to nontraditional mortgage products
- One hour on elective content
8 Hour SAFE Comprehensive: 2026 Mortgage Loan Originator Course
This online self-study course satisfies the eight hours of 2026 annual continuing education required of individuals maintaining a state-issued mortgage loan originator (MLO) license. Within this course, students will spend time reviewing required topics, including:
- Three hours on federal mortgage-related laws
- Two hours on ethics, fraud, and consumer protection

An MLO who has completed their pre-licensure education (PE) course requirements in the same year in which the license was approved, is not required to complete CE.
*NOTE: In addition to other required continuing education, a mortgage loan originator licensed with the State of Utah on or after May 8, 2017, shall, beginning January 1, 2020, complete a division-approved continuing education course for new loan originators prior to their first renewal. These five hours are in addition to the 9 hours of annual CE already required for MLOs (8hrs + 1hrs of UT-specific). The 5hr post-licensure course is required to be completed by October 21, 2022.
Course Duplication:
A licensee may not take the same CE course two years in a row.

Course Completion Reporting:
Mortgage course completions are reported to the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS). The CE Shop will report credits to the NMLS within 7 business days of course completion. The NMLS recommends completing CE prior to the 12/31 deadline as licensees are unable to apply to renew their license if their CE is not complete.
Utah-DRE licensees are required to complete both their Federal and State CE courses by December 15.
