Real estate reciprocity is the ability of a real estate license earned in one state to be used in other states. Reciprocity rules vary by state, and it can be a complicated system to navigate on your own. But don't worry! The CE Shop has created a guide explaining reciprocity and breaking down the process for obtaining real estate license reciprocity in each state.
The requirements for transferring a real estate license to another state vary, and each state can decide whether to offer full reciprocity, partial reciprocity, mutual reciprocity, limited reciprocity, or none. For more information, check out type: entry-hyperlink id: 1vIDQJMJQ8gzssXSA3XfR4, which outlines the process for obtaining license reciprocity in each state.

BioSig ID is a biometric, four-character gesture password that is unique to each student. The biometric gesture software measures the unique way in which a user moves their mouse, finger, or stylus when they log in using their biometric password. It’s similar to the way you sign your name on an electronic credit card machine. The unique drawing pattern eliminates the risk of an impostor logging in as you. It also makes it impossible for students to share passwords, preventing fraud and cheating. For more information and more detailed instructions on BioSig ID please visit our BioSig Resources Page.
The NMLS resource has a video and an article explaining how you can reset your BioSig password. If you’re having difficulty getting the password reset code, this NMLS article can help.
All active MLOs must take 8 hours of approved NMLS CE per year in addition to any state-specific course requirements. After completing their required CE, individuals are able to complete annual attestation that their record is up to date, pay their annual NMLS processing fee, and submit and pay for any renewal requests required by their state regulators. This is all done by the student through their NMLS account. Verify your state’s requirements here.
If you are renewing in multiple states, you only need to take the NMLS-approved national course once. Then, complete any CE courses required in each of the states where you are renewing. Verify your state requirements here.
To find your NMLS ID number, click the Log in to NMLS button in the upper right corner on the NMLS Resource Center. Enter your username and password, then click the Log In button. You will be asked to accept the Industry Terms of Use. After logging in, click Composite View in the upper right corner. Then, click View Individual on the top sub-menu. This will pull up your personal information. Your NMLS ID will be listed as the Individual ID.
NMLS requires all course providers to report course completions within seven calendar days, and The CE Shop reports course completions within this time frame. Course completions will not immediately be reflected in the NMLS system once they are submitted and may take additional time to process. Please take this into consideration when deciding when to complete your course(s).
In the upper right-hand corner of our website, select My Account and enter the email address and password that are associated with your account. Once you log in, you'll be redirected to the account page. On this page, you can scroll to the Completed Courses section to view a list of all courses you’ve completed.
Every state-licensed MLO or person with a NMLS ID number has access to their course completion record in NMLS. The record contains a history of all completed NMLS-approved education. The record also displays the number of hours required for specific licenses and any outstanding requirements. The Quick Guide - Education Records from NMLS provides instructions on how to find this information.
