State Requirements

This course provides 14 hours of instruction in appraisal valuation processes continued education for appraisal professionals. Topics include how to use the sales comparison approach, the cost approach, and the income approach. This course also dives into considerations for highest and best use, which gives appraisers techniques for deciding which approach should hold the most weight in an appraisal calculation. To wrap this course up, special and emerging appraisal techniques are also covered.

Arkansas State Requirement Details for State Registered and Registered Apprentice Appraiser Continuing Education

Renewal Date: Renew by December 31st every year.

Hours Required by the State for renewals prior to January 1, 2026: 14 Hours

  • 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course *if not taken for 2024 renewal
  • 7 hours of approved continuing education or 14 hours of approved continuing education if 7-hour USPAP was taken for 2024 renewal

Hours Required by the State for renewals on or after January 1, 2026: 14 Hours

  • Every two years 7-Hour National USPAP Continuing Education Course
  • Every two years 7-hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course or 4-hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course (see explanation below) 
  • Additional continuing education required
    • no additional continuing education required if 7-hour USPAP and 7-hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations were completed during current renewal year
    • 3 hours of approved continuing education required if 7-hour USPAP and 4-hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations were completed during current renewal year
    • 14 hours of approved continuing education required if 7-hour USPAP and Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations were completed during prior renewal year

Beginning January 1, 2026, a Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course will be required for Continuing Education. The first time a Licensee completes the Continuing Education requirement for this course, the course length must be 7 hours. If a Licensee successfully completed an 8-hour course as part of their Qualifying Education, they have satisfied this requirement. Every 2 calendar years thereafter, the course length must be at least 4 hours.

Reporting: The state does not require schools to report course completions.

Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
