This program provides the 120 hours of education for licensees who have held a real estate license in another state for less than 2 years and wish to obtain a Colorado license. Both the national and state portions of the Colorado Real Estate Broker's Exam administered by PSI must also be passed. It consists of the following individual courses:
This course provides the 24 hours of instruction in the basic skills necessary to properly close a real estate transaction required of all applicants for a broker’s license in Colorado. Topics include broker’s responsibility relating to closing, introduction to a 6-column worksheet, closing to a prepared contract, legal documents, and closing problems.
This course provides the 8 hours of instruction in proper record keeping procedures required by the Real Estate Commission to maintain and account for funds belonging to others. Topics include legal requirements for trust accounts, record keeping requirements, special areas of concern, and termination of brokerage relationship.
This course provides the 8 hours of instruction in current real estate and real estate related statues and regulations and important legal issues, developments, and practices required of all applicants for a broker’s license in Colorado. Topics include Colorado real estate rules, regulations, policies, position statements, and instructive disciplinary proceedings as well as recent and relevant federal and state case law and statutory law.
This course provides the 32 hours of instruction in the application of laws, rules, and standards of practices required of all applicants for a broker’s license in Colorado. The course provides a working knowledge of the practical applications of entering the real estate industry, a basic understanding in determining competency, the necessary components of a successful transaction, and an overview of market trends. Topics include current market trends, offer to closing, specialty areas of practice, and residential, property management, commercial and other competencies.

Hours Required by the State: 168 hours
Licensing Exam: The licensing exam is administered by PSI. Registration for the state licensing exam is an entirely separate process from proctoring for your course final exam. For instructions to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.
The CE Shop’s Offering: 168 hours
The CE Shop LLC is approved and regulated by the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Private Occupational School Board.
Reporting: The state does not require schools to report course completions.
Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account.
The CE Shop’s Pre-Licensing courses expire one year after the date of purchase. The CE Shop will allow students to purchase a new course at a 50% discount of the current retail price of the new course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in the student’s account.
Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
