60-Hr. DC Principles and Practices of Real Estate for Salespersons Course

This course is designed to provide you with the 60 hours of instruction required to be eligible for a District of Columbia Salesperson license. 

This course prepares you for the District of Columbia state licensing exam as well as provides the practical business knowledge and foundation necessary to be a successful real estate salesperson in the District of Columbia.

District of Columbia State Requirement Details for Real Estate Pre-Licensing

Hours Required by the State: 60 hours

Pre-Licensing Final Exams: Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary. 

Licensing Exam: The licensing exam is administered by PSI.  Registration for the state licensing exam is an entirely separate process from proctoring for your course final exam. For instructions to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.

The CE Shop’s Offering: 60 hours

Reporting: The state does not require schools to report qualifying course completions. Students will submit their certificate of completion with their license application.

Expiration Date of Course: The CE Shop’s Pre-Licensing course in the District of Columbia will expire three months after the date of purchase. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account. Refer to the Terms and Conditions for re-enrollment options.

Certificates: Once The CE Shop has received the signed affidavit, your certificate of course completion will become available to download (and via email). The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic certificate of completion, upon completion of the course. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies. Please refer to your license application to determine if you need to submit your certificate of completion with your license request. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date of your certificate of completion will reflect this.

Additional District of Columbia Licensing Information:

CE Exemptions: Newly licensed brokers, salespersons and property managers are exempt from taking CE courses for the remainder of a licensing cycle during which their license is obtained, but are required to renew the license when that first cycle ends. CE credits taken by (new) licensees do not roll over and cannot be carried forward into the next cycle.

License Renewal Process: The process to renew in this state is to log in to the licensing system online and follow the prompts to renew.
