State Requirements

This course provides 3 hours of instruction in appraisal valuation processes continued education for appraisal professionals. Topics include how to use the sales comparison approach, the cost approach, and the income approach. This course also dives into considerations for highest and best use, which gives appraisers techniques for deciding which approach should hold the most weight in an appraisal calculation. To wrap this course up, special and emerging appraisal techniques are also covered.

This course does not meet the 2026 Real Property Qualification Criteria (Criteria) required education on valuation bias and fair housing laws and regulations.

Idaho State Requirement Details for Appraiser Continuing Education

Renewal Date: 24 months (license must be renewed each year)

Hours Required by the State: 30 Hours

7-hour USPAP Update Course
23 hours of approved continuing education

Note: License must be renewed each year, based on date of issuance. 30 hours of continuing education are required in each 2 year CE period.

Beginning January 1, 2026, a Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course will be required for Continuing Education.

Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
