State Requirements

45-hour Post-License education is for licensed brokers in their first renewal cycle. You must have been issued your 475 license number prior to taking this course. Those without a license number will not receive credit.

This course provides the 15 hours of instruction required as part of the 45-hour post-licensing education requirement in Illinois. Brokers will apply their knowledge related to transactional issues, including seller, buyer, and property management issues through exercises, role-play activities, situational simulations, and case studies.

Hours Required by the State: 45 hours

  • 15-hour course on Applied Brokerage Principles
  • 15-hour course on Risk Management/Discipline
  • 15-hour course on Transactional Issues

The Post-License curriculum includes the required 1 hour of Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.

Note: Brokers receiving their initial broker license are required to complete the 45-hour post-license education during their first license term and are not required to complete any other CE during that license term. If an individual receives the initial broker license within 180 days preceding the first broker renewal deadline, the broker must complete the 45-hour post-license education prior to the second broker renewal deadline.

Reporting: The state requires course completions to be reported to the state. We will report your course to the state upon completion.

Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.

Final Exam: Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75%.
