Indiana 90-Hour Real Estate Broker Pre-Licensing Course

This course provides 90 hours of instruction in essential real estate topics required of all applicants for a salesperson license in Indiana.

The purpose of the course is to prepare learners for the Indiana licensing exam and a career in real estate by providing an understanding of the basics of real estate sales and laws. Topics include real property, forms of ownership, property value, real estate contracts, agency, property disclosures, financing, closing transactions, real estate math, the Indiana Real Estate Commission, Indiana real estate license laws and regulations, and real estate office procedures.

Hours Required by the State: 90 hours

Licensing Exam: The licensing exam is administered by Pearson VUE. Registration for the state licensing exam is an entirely separate process from proctoring for your course final exam. For instructions to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.

The CE Shop’s Offering: 90 hours

Reporting: The state does not require schools to report qualifying course completions. Students will submit their certificate of completion with their license application.

Expiration Date of Course: The CE Shop’s Pre-Licensing courses expire one year after the date of purchase. The CE Shop will allow students to purchase a new course at a 50% discount of the current retail price of the new course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in the student’s account.  

Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.

Seat Time: It is required that all students spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.

Final Exam: Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary to pass.

Post-Licensing: Within the first two (2) years of licensure, a broker must complete thirty (30) hours of approved post-licensing education. Completion of the 30 hours of post-licensing education fully satisfies the continuing education requirement for 2 continuing education years. A broker is not required to obtain continuing education until the third continuing education year after a broker is initially licensed.
