What defines a successful real estate professional in Kentucky? It’s not just strong sales or local expertise, it’s a clear understanding of the laws, responsibilities, and ethical standards that support the industry. Real estate isn’t guesswork, but rather a profession where each detail matters, whether it’s filing a complaint through the KREC website, submitting a contract deposit on time, or renewing a license correctly.

From agency disclosures and fair housing compliance to contract requirements, principal broker duties, and advertising rules, every part of a licensee’s work is shaped by regulation. Together, these areas create the legal framework for real estate practice in Kentucky. This course explores the expectations that guide daily responsibilities, helping licensees stay compliant, protect clients, and reduce risk.

Course highlights include:

  • An overview of the KREC website’s resources and features
  • A review of the license renewal process
  • A look at the advertising rules, roles, and responsibilities in KY
  • Tips for adhering to fair housing laws
  • A discussion of the various forms of agency relationships and identify fiduciary duties agents owe to clients
  • An overview of agency disclosures and consent
  • A review of the Seller’s Disclosure of Property Condition form
  • Tips for following lead-based paint disclosures
  • A discussion of stigmatized properties and Megan’s Law
  • A review of contract regulations including listing agreements, purchase offers, and purchase contracts
  • A discussion of a principal broker’s duties to supervise licensees and employees
  • A look at property management practices and requirements
  • Activities and examples to seal in the new information and frame it in everyday context
