State Requirements

This course offers 26-hours of broker advanced practices topics. This course and the 2-hour Board-approved Law and Rule Required Course (LARRC) and the 2-hour Oregon State and Federal Fair Housing Course fulfill the Oregon requirement for a licensee’s first active license renewal or reactivation (30 hours of continuing education in total). Topics include real estate business ethics, legislative updates, antitrust issues, rules for real estate advertising, Oregon Real Estate Agency administrative actions, property management in Oregon, real estate business economics, advanced agency relationships, and avoiding misrepresentation and negligence.

Hours Required by the State: 30 hours

26 hours - Broker Advanced Practices Course
2 hours - Oregon State and Federal Fair Housing Course
2 hours - Oregon Law and Rule Required Course (LARRC)

*Note: all licensees renewing on or after 1/1/2026 are required to complete the 2-hour State and Federal Fair Housing Course, even if they already completed the 3-hour LARRC and 27-hour Broker Advanced Practices Course prior to January 1, 2026.

Initial License Renewal Date: The license expiration date is the last day of the licensee's birth month. The initial license term is at minimum 13 months and at most 24 months and 30 days.

Reporting: The state does not require schools to report qualifying course completions.

Real estate Brokers, Principal Brokers and Property Managers must retain their education certificates for 3 years after the license renewal or reactivation date. The Agency randomly audits continuing education records, licensees are required to provide copies of the certificates of attendance to the Agency upon request.

Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account. See Terms & Conditions for more details.

Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.

Final Exam: Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary in order to pass.

Seat Time: It is required that all students spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.

Post-Licensing:

Principal Brokers renewing active for the first time must complete the 26-hour Principal Broker Advanced Practices (PBAP) course, 2-hour LARRC course, and 2-hour Oregon State and Federal Fair Housing Course.

Property Managers renewing active for the first time must complete the 26-hour Property Management Advanced Practices (PMAP) course, 2-hour LARRC course, and 2-hour Oregon State and Federal Fair Housing Course.
