Virginia Broker 45-Hour Real Estate Investment

This course provides 45 of the 180 total hours of instruction required to be eligible for a Virginia Real Estate Broker's license. 

The course covers the principles of investing in the real estate market, the pros and cons of real estate investing, feasibility studies, tax laws affecting real estate investments and financing options available to investor. The course also examines real estate investment by property types: residential, commercial, industrial, and other opportunities.

Virginia Broker 45-Hour Real Estate Finance

This course provides 45 of the 180 total hours of instruction required to be eligible for a Virginia Real Estate Broker's license. 

Topics include loan terms, types and issues; government loan programs; defaults and foreclosures; instruments used in real estate financing; and government influence on financing.

Virginia Broker 45-Hour Real Estate Brokerage

This course provides 45 hours of instruction in real estate brokerage, required of all applicants for a broker’s license in Virginia. Applicants for a Broker License must complete a total of 180 hours of broker pre-licensing courses.

The course prepares learners for the Virginia Broker licensing exam and provides practice with both the multiple choice and scenario questions types found on the broker licensing exam. Topics include real estate license law, brokerage relationships, ethical and legal business practices, establishing a brokerage, running a brokerage, brokerage finances, and brokerage marketing and advertising.

Virginia Broker 45-Hour Real Estate Appraisal

This course provides 45 of the 180 total hours of instruction required to be eligible for a Virginia Real Estate Broker's license. 

Topics include central purposes and functions of an appraisal, social and economic determinant of value, cost, sales comparison, and income approaches to real estate valuation, final correlations, and reporting. The course also includes case studies.

State Requirements For Virginia

Virginia State Requirement Details for Real Estate Broker Pre-Licensing Education

Hours Required by the State: 180 hours

Licensing Exam: The licensing exam is administered by PSI.  Registration for the state licensing exam is an entirely separate process from proctoring for your course final exam. For instructions to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.  As of April 1, 2025, a digital photo is no longer required to take the PSI exam.

The CE Shop’s Offering: 180 hours

Proctored Final Exam: The state requires your final exam to be proctored.  You’ll need to schedule an appointment with a proctor in advance. You can find full details of the proctoring process here. Upon passing the final course exam, you will be asked to sign an affidavit verifying your identity as the student who completed the course and the final course exam. Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75%.

Seat Time: It is required that all students spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.

Reporting: The state requires course completions to be reported to PSI. We will report your course to PSI upon completion.

Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account.

The CE Shop’s Pre-Licensing courses expire one year after the date of purchase. The CE Shop will allow students to purchase a new course at a 50% discount of the current retail price of the new course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in the student’s account.

Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
