However, if you’re a real estate agent licensed in another state and wish to sell real estate in South Dakota, you won’t need to take additional pre-licensing courses. South Dakota Requires That All Applicants:
Be at least 18 years of age
Submit a Certificate of Licensure for your current and active license from your resident state

If you hold an active license in another state, and you’ve successfully passed the real estate licensing examination in that same state, you may obtain a similar level of licensure in South Dakota if you successfully pass the State portion of the real estate exam in South Dakota.

Steps & Forms for Getting Your South Dakota Non-Resident License

Both South Dakota and FBI fingerprint cards, along with a check for $43.25 made payable to DCI

Your application must be filed within 60 days of passing the state exam.
