The South Dakota real estate exam will cost students $98. There are other fees associated with licensing, but you can expect the test alone to cost this much.

In order to pass the South Dakota real estate exam, you'll need a score of at least 75% on the 142-question exam. Passing the exam is much less stressful for anyone who has completed an Exam Prep course.

The South Dakota real estate exam must be taken at an approved testing facility. These testing facilities are located in the following cities: Madison, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and Fargo.

You cannot take the South Dakota real estate exam online. All students must travel to a testing location where they will be monitored for the duration of the test.

Students taking the South Dakota real estate exam will see if they passed or failed immediately upon its completion.

Candidates who fail one section of the exam and pass the other only need to retake the part they failed. This can be done within one year. After a year, candidates must retake the entire examination.
